* Found in 1930 article from the Louisville Herald / Post; "The report of the board included statistics which showed the (Jefferson) county death rate per 100,000 population to be 103.2 in 1929. This compared most favorably with a death rate for the county of 276 in 1911. "

* Found in 1942 article from the Courier Journal; "The lowest recorded death rate in Kentucky was chalked up for 1941 with the rate being 10.2 per 1,000 population..."

* Found in an 194x article from the Courier Journal; "...the Kentucky 194x TB death rate was 44.4 per 100,000 population while the Louisville area rate was 67.7."
